The Bluffs

The Beach

The Water
The name Scarborough actually originates from these bluffs. The first European settlers of the area decided that bluffs strongly resembled those of Scarborough, England. So the name was used again in Canada. From what I'm told, the Scarborough in England has just about as much of a dodgey reputation as Scarborough, Canada does.
While these pictures are beautiful, I must note that to get to the Scarborough Bluffs, you can travel along Kingston. Kingston Road around the Bluffs is supremely sketchy--pay by the hour motels, cheap fast food dives, unkempt strip malls.
But nonetheless, the Bluffs themselves are quite the sight. Just watch out during the summer months if you want to swim here. Usually it's posted, meaning the water is unsafe to swim in due to bacteria.
And for some extra fun, here's a picture of two of the cupcakes I made for my friend's birthday.

It's a nice day for the beach.
**Note: I took all the Bluffs picture earlier this week, which is why there aren't so many people. I'm sure today the beach is filled with sunbathers, swimmers, and toddlers building sandcastles.
My cupcakes!!!!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Scarborough phenomenon.
